Day three of Dubai Fashion Week opened with six hot young designers getting their first taste of the catwalk in the Emerging Talent show.

First to showcase her collection was Nausheen Akhter whose designs mostly included miniskirts and cocktail dresses in metallic materials.

There was a punky feel to the range which also included hanging chains as well as black velvet pieces with splashes of colour thrown in. The stand out piece was definitely a barcode-inspired shoulder wrap.

Former Dutch barrister, Noelle Adam, concentrated on gold, fuchsia and hot pink for her playful range, which ranged from maxi dresses to evening wear. There were lots of extra sleeves, and accessories in the way of floppy hats, detailed pashminas and hanging necklaces.

Her show also included her eight-year-old daughter, Beau, taking to the runway in a crushed silk maxi dress - highlighting how most of Adam's range comes with matching outfits for girls.

Homa Qamar was the only one of the six young designers who was gracing the catwalk for the second season. With her Greco-roman inspired abayas she fused modern tailoring, embellishments and cuts with a draped and layered look that had an old world glamour to it. There were belts clinching in waists and lots of silver and gold embroidery as well as Swarovski crystal detailing. While Qamar stuck with the traditional black hue, her billowing sleeves were often sheer.

Deborah Simcox embraced a theatrical tone for her show titled 'Sublime Opulence'. Her first model ran out before falling to the ground in what was a dramatic opening to her range. The masked models added to the masquerade ball feel of the collection which enjoyed a colour palette of black, red and white. There were puffball skirts, corsets and fishtail details within the range. While the fabric sculptures helped create an elaborate feel. The statement piece of the collection was however, a black knee length skirt, which was covered in red fabric flowers with netting underneath.

Mixing comfort with luxury was Najibah Pandor with her debut collection titled, 'Look At Me'. Her very unique range was a mixture of semi-casual dresses and trouser-shirt combinations in a mix of printed and plain wools. The colours of this collection were mainly brown and cream with splashes of red.

It was smart tailoring and form-hugging style for Iranian designer, Ladan Yadollahvand. The first piece of her collection had a tux-esque style while her skirts were A-line. There were also a-symmetrical cuts to her dresses. The colour palette of choice for Ladan was red, black and white for her smarter items, whilst fuchsia and black with turquoise splashes were seen on her evening outfits.
