The overall response to the show has been overwhelming and, with three more days to go, it is all set to surpass visitor and sales figures of the previous editions.

"The visitor turnout has been amazing." said Mr Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Director-General of Expo Centre Sharjah.

Special offers on execlusive collections of watches and jewellery creations, good bargains, prizes for buyers, signature Jewellery and many free gifts are the major attractions of the show, said a cross section of visitors and exhibitors at the show.

Mr. Amit Dhamani CEO of Dhamani Jewels said, "Dhamani Jewels is being a proud exhibitor of Sharjah exhibition for last 15 years."

"We are offering for the first time, a one of a kind, a unique hand made diamond necklace with natural color stones. It is one of our Premier Collection this is exclusively displayed at the Watch and Jewellery Show in Sharjah," said Mr. Cihan Akdere , Sales Manager from Zela, Turkey.

While there are daily gifts at the Hong Kong Pavilion, lucky shoppers have the chance to win fabulous prizes.

In particular, country pavilions have been a big draw. Hong Kong has the biggest number of participants in its country pavilion this time. Other countries that are having their pavilions include India, Italy, Thailand, Lebanon and Singapore.

Visitors who prefer a western style jewellery thronged the Italian Pavilion, which has 24 exhibitors many of them showcasing for the first time in the gulf the best of the country's designs in diamond and colored gold jewellery.

"My first stop at the show was at the Italian Pavilion. Though I buy all types of jewellery, I have a fondness for Italian designs. I will definitely be visiting all the country pavilions," said Fatma, from Syria.

"With three more days to go before the conclusion of the show, visitors and shoppers have plenty of opportunity to win more gifts and prizes. This is a double treat for them - on the one hand they can buy the best of season's trendsetting jewellery creations, and on the other hand they can win attractive prizes and gifts," said Mr Midfa.

The show is featuring nearly 450 master jewellers and craftsmen, showcasing loose pearls, diamonds, precious stones, gold and diamond jewellery, diamond and pearl sets, crystals, watches, jewellery displays, and different kinds of tools used in the trade at 16,000 square metres of exhibition space.

The general visiting hours of show will be from 4pm to 10pm on April 9, 10 and 11. Ladies will have exclusive timings on April 11, from 11am to 2pm. Entry is free.

The exhibition is being organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the World Gold Council and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
