Manchester Business School Worldwide launches the 'Manchester Global MBA' in Middle East
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, April 12 - 2009 at 11:08
- PRESS RELEASE
Manchester Business School (MBS) Worldwide, with its Middle East Regional Centre in Dubai, has announced the launch of its fourth part time/blended learning MBA programme in response to demands from students in the Middle East.
The new Global MBA, which is an intensive 30-36 month programme, is available to students enrolling from the July 2009 intake.
The Manchester Global MBA is designed to meet the changing needs of an international business community. The part time/blended learning approach enables executives to participate in one of the world's most rigorous MBA programmes, while fitting their studies into their demanding work schedule.
The programme is delivered through a combination of self study, face to face residential workshops (in Dubai), online collaborations and e-learning, providing a rich learning experience and mirroring the global business workplace of the 21st century.
"We believe this Global MBA programme will be an attractive option for executives looking to advance their careers," says Chris Higgins, Deputy Director Middle East, MBS Worldwide. "With its focus on leadership, innovation and internationalism, Global MBA students can expect to reap the same career benefits - and earn the same degree - as full time MBA students. The emphasis is on practical learning and project work."
"We wanted to bring this new course to the Middle East because of the demand from students here for a general MBA programme. We have taken the core, general management modules from our specialist MBAs and tailored these into a new programme, complemented by a choice of stimulating elective subjects that are increasingly in demand in the business world, including 'Ethics, Governance and Competition Policy', and 'Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management'," Higgins added.
MBS Worldwide has 500 MBA students in the Middle East, following the three specialist MBA programmes in finance, engineering business management, and the unique Construction MBA.
Applications to top business schools typically rise during a recession and student applications to the school in the Middle East rose by 18% for the January 2009 intake (compared to the July 2008 intake). The MBS Worldwide Middle East Regional Centre in Dubai opened in 2006.
