In conformity with last year's World Blood Donor Day hosted in the U.A.E under the direct patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the U.A.E; Daman is hosting a blood donation campaign for the second year in a row to encourage continuous blood donation.
Daman's Product Manager, Ms. Mervat Atwani said, "This is my second time to be participating in Daman's blood donation campaign. I strongly feel that donating blood is a rewarding civil duty that we should all consider."
Daman invites its members and anyone willing to donate blood to its branches in Hamdan and airport roads on the 12th, 13th of April between 8 am and 3 pm. A number of mobile clinics from the Abu Dhabi Blood Bank will be present to see to the blood donation process.
The duration of a typical blood donation process takes approximately 10 minutes; whereby 500 ml of collected blood could save up to three lives of those in need.
Dr. Jad Aoun, Daman's Chief Medical Officer commented, "Regular blood donation reduces the chances of heart attacks, helps regulate the iron level and stimulates the generation process of new blood cells. Hence, we always urge everyone to constantly donate blood for a healthier blood cycle while at the same time helping those in need."
Daman is keen on playing an active role in enhancing the health standards of the UAE community by constantly involving its staff and members; and educating the public on general health matters.
