Jordan Telecom Group announces further tariff discount on broadband

In line with His Majesty's vision to spread the internet culture across Jordan, Jordan Telecom Group, the sole integrated telecom operator in the Kingdom and sole provider of wired ADSL services, announced further tariff discount on Broadband IP Traffic Collection and IP Bitstream services for ADSL internet connectivity.

This move reflects the Group's pioneering role in providing internet services and introducing the latest innovations in technology in the local market, as well as its commitment to increase the internet penetration in Jordan.

Starting 1st of April, Broadband IP Traffic Collection service discounted offer was 15% to connect ISPs' subscribers with Jordan Telecom Group through the latter's ADSL service. Whereas up to 20% discount was applied to IP Bitstream service prices that enables internet service providers to provide end to end ADSL service with high speeds of up to 8 Mbps with just a single point of contact, facilitating the growing One Stop Shop culture.

"Since the day we were established, we have striven to make His Majesty's vision come true in terms of increasing internet users' penetration among Jordanians, and to put Jordan ahead of the other regional countries in the Communications and IT field," said Jordan Telecom Group CEO Mr. Mickael Ghossein.

"Besides, our ceaseless dedication to offer competitive prices for Broadband Traffic Collection and IP Bitstream services will not only be in favor of the Jordanian internet users, but also will make internet services more popular in Jordan. But simply these discounts should now be passed on to the everyday internet user so they can access their email accounts and the wider web at very affordable prices - for everyone," he added.

According to Mr Laurent Marini, Jordan Telecom Wholesale Vice-President, reducing the prices of all ADSL wholesale services empower ISPs for creating greater retail offers, hence to increase the internet penetration in the Kingdom.

Mr Marini also emphasized his commitment to consistently deliver a better service to all ISPs and Jordanians as these new tariffs, internet users will find higher speeds more affordable which in turn will enhance the internet experience in the Kingdom.

Mr. Ghossein concluded by stressing that the strategic partnership with France Telecom, the prime share owner of Jordan Telecom Group, and the strong relation with global internet providers will continuously lead to offering competitive prices and introducing new services with international standards which will effectively contribute in enriching the communications and IT sector.
