Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak attends the UAE National Paramedic Graduates' ceremony at DWC

In the presence of His Excellency, Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology, 18 UAE national students graduated from the HCT Dubai based Paramedic Program.

All eighteen HCT UAE national students who studied for the Higher Diploma in Paramedics at Dubai Women's and Men's Colleges are the second Advanced Life Support Paramedics to work on a UAE ambulance and first UAE nationals to achieve international paramedic qualifications.

In his address to the graduates, His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan congratulated them and affirmed that the graduation celebration is unique because it also celebrates the successful cooperation and effective partnership formed between the HCT and Dubai Police which resulted in a strong program and internationally certified graduates.

"I am pleased that this program is offered by the Higher Colleges of Technology in cooperation with the General Headquarters of Dubai Police. The constructive relations between these two institutions are indicative of a promising beginning for further cooperation and coordination aiming to achieve the country's goals and aspirations."


General Commander, Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim thanked the graduates for their excellent performance throughout the program and congratulated them on such a pioneering accomplishment.

He said, "The graduates are now well prepared to perform their duties and responsibilities in the ambulatory services center, which is known for providing quality humanistic services for the emirate of Dubai in particular, and the UAE in general. The General Headquarters of Dubai Police, in cooperation with the Higher Colleges of Technology, has offered the Paramedics program, which has led to the graduation of three cohorts consisting of 32 male and female graduates."

The HCT's Advanced Life Support Paramedic Program started five years ago in partnership with the Dubai Police, Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania-USA, and the Dubai Ambulance Service. It aims at Emiratization as well as improving the existing basic ambulance service to an advanced and internationally recognized service in the future.

The program is funded by the Dubai Police Head Quarters and Human Resources Departments with the endorsement of the Ambulance Services Center of in Dubai.
