GreenWave Capital ties up with Emrill to install its PermaFrost solution across the UAE

GreenWave Capital has tied up with the leading integrated facilities and energy management provider, Emrill, to install its PermaFrost solution in villas and apartment buildings across the UAE.

With residents increasing concern about air conditioning performance and corresponding energy cost, PermaFrost is a significant value-added service for residents of the United Arab Emirates.

With a one-time application that lasts the lifetime of an A/C system, Permafrost offers UAE residents an environmentally-sound solution that enhances the overall performance of a villa or apartment's air conditioning equipment, while reducing energy consumption.

Even better for both tenants and property owners, PermaFrost requires no mechanical modifications or alterations to the system and minimal downtime to install.

Emrill's management states that most service calls are related to inadequate cooling. "The cause is usually the performance or the capacity of the air conditioning units installed. PermaFrost is a solution to provide increased efficiency, which is a more sound and environmentally-friendly investment than replacing or upgrading the air conditioning system," said Emrill's Divisional Manager, Nev Patterson.

"Over time, residents find that the performance of their AC units drops off. This is due to small leaks in gas, worn compressors and oil fouling of refrigerant pipes," continued Patterson.

Oil fouling is the inevitable instance when the compressor's lubricating oil mixes with refrigerant altering the chemical composition of both, ultimately leading to system inefficiency. Oil fouling can cause a loss of about 7% efficiency the first year and degradation will peak at 20% - 30%.

"While regular servicing can prevent leaks and wear and tear, PermaFrost is the only solution to clear oil fouling and increase the flow of refrigerant gas, resulting in a cooler and more cost-effective home," Patterson added.

Existing PermaFrost users in the UAE's commercial sector report system efficiency increases of 10%-20%. Air conditioning accounts for an estimated 60-70% of total energy use in the Middle East.
