Gulf Film Festival announces media sponsors

The Gulf Film Festival, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), has announced the locally-based media firms that have stepped up as media sponsors for the second annual festival run.

The firms are: Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), Arab Media Group (AMG), Khaleej Times and Rotana Khalijiyah.

Masoud Amralla Al Ali, Festival Director of GFF, expressed his thanks to the companies for their support:
"GFF and all the media partners have their roots in the Middle East and share a similar international goal of aiming globally while retaining local values and traditions. The Festival is confident in its ability to raise the profile of the region worldwide, and we are excited about reaching this objective with the support of our esteemed patrons."


Ahmad Abdulla Al Sheikh, Managing Director of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), one of the pioneering media organizations and creative services group in the Middle East, said, "We are delighted to be associated with an event that is playing a crucial role in shaping the future of Emirati filmmakers and the regional cinema. It is imperative that local and regional artists be given an exclusive platform to showcase their talents, a reason why we are delighted to support the Gulf Film Festival."

Abdullatif Alsayegh, CEO of the Arab Media Group, the largest multimedia group in the Emirates, commented, "Arab Media Group believes strongly in backing and nurturing local talent wherever we find it. This is our second year supporting the Gulf Film Festival, and we have also backed the Dubai International Film Festival. We believe that to put the Gulf on the map we must support our local talent and more importantly make sure that we as media partner become a space that represents our community."

Mr. Turki Al Shabanah from Rotana Khalijiyah added that, "The GFF is a worthy endeavour that aims to give shape to the cinema scene in the GCC region. As we focus on the Khaleeji audience, we are thrilled to play a part in the evolution of Khaleeji cinema, and are eager to see the developments that will be stimulated by this festival."

Didier Brun, CEO of Khaleej Times, commented, "As a major source of news in the Emirates, we consider it our duty to support initiatives such as the Gulf Film Festival, where so much news is being made: bright new talents and established names launching their work and networking with each other to create valuable collaborations in the future."

The Gulf Film Festival is brought by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) in association with Dubai Studio City.
