Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology and H.E. Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of ADBIC.
The agreement covers a three year commitment by ADBIC to sponsor the Dean of Industrial Engineering who will work with other chairs and faculty throughout HCT's 16 campus system. The Dean will promote best practices, monitor and improve academic standards, evaluate student performance, facilitate faculty development, and develop relationships across the system and the community.
ADBIC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Government's General Holding Corporation, is an industrial development and investment company created to facilitate the expansion of sustainable industrial activity in Abu Dhabi in the base metals (aluminum, steel and copper) and petrochemicals sectors, as well as other industrial sectors.
"We are delighted to become a member of the HCT Foundation 100 Club. Through ADBIC's new partnership with HCT, we will now be able to provide HCT students with the opportunities to develop skills and careers in industrial engineering. By lending our direct support and backing, we will help HCT to promote a strong national workforce and introduce innovative technologies to the UAE and the GCC region."
said Al Nowais.
As part of its 20th anniversary initiative, the Higher Colleges of Technology established the HCT Foundation in 2007, with a mandate to provide partnership opportunities for the corporate sector. In less than one year, the Foundation has added 23 companies who have made significant gifts to its 100 Club.
"The HCT aims to provide the highest quality technical and professional programs to our students," stated Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor of HCT. "We are pleased to sign this agreement with ADBIC, who, by providing its financial support through the HCT Foundation, will enhance our Industrial Engineering program."
