- PRESS RELEASE
Acer, one of the world's top branded PC vendors, will supply the Jordanian Ministry of Education with 11,000 computers to support an ambitious program of modernization across all Jordanian schools.
"The deal represents an important expansion of the modernization program and we're pleased that, once again, Acer is a key player in the expansion of the use of information technology in education in the Middle East," says Krishna Murthy, general manager, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. "The Jordanian Ministry selected Acer technology because of its reliability and suitability for educational work, and these factors are driving our development in this market across the region."
Acer's authorized channel partner in the region, CEB, played an essential part in the deal. To ensure that schools get the most out of Acer technology, CEB will provide them with world-class after-sales services and training as required.
"Strong partnerships help deliver maximum value to our customers and our work with CEB will ensure that the schools of Jordan will be able to realize the full potential of information technology," comments Basem Ewaiwi, regional sales manager for East Mediterranean, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. "Acer strongly supports the IT initiatives of the Jordanian government, which follow the directives of his highness King Abdulla to make Jordan an IT leader in the region," added Ewaiwi
The purchase of the new computers is part of a coordinated drive by the Ministry of Education to establish a modern infrastructure for Jordan's schools.
"Acer has always supported the education sector in the Middle East, and one of our corporate goals is to enable the development of an IT literate generation," says Murthy.
"We're delighted to support the Ministry of Education's efforts in preparing future Jordanian professionals."
