All 27 vehicles have a commemorative 'Grand Prix Edition' badge fixed behind the front wheel arches. Of these select cars, two were driven by the current Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton and his team mate Heikki Kovalainen. Both drivers used the GLK 280 during their stay in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Al Haddad Motors' new General Manager, Dr. Ulf Ausprung, commented:
"After an exciting race here in Bahrain, we are now offering our customers the chance to own an exclusive piece of history by purchasing the Grand Prix Edition vehicles available at our Mercedes-Benz approved used car showroom. The cars were all driven by members of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 team, and two GLK 280s were actually driven by the World Champion Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen. Both of these vehicles were also signed by the drivers."
The Mercedes-Benz GLK is a chic and modern five-passenger sport-utility. The two GLK 280s are equipped with 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. Some of the other vehicles used by the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team include the E 200, E 230, E 280, ML 350 and the S 350 L.
With each car sold, Al Haddad Motors will include an exclusive Grand Prix gift pack. These gift packs include items such as ½ scale model helmets, signed photos of Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalinen and diecast models of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 car.
