Span hands over phase one of Agility's largest warehousing facility

The new distribution centre is the largest for Agility in the Middle East. Span was awarded the contract for the supply of the storage and material handling equipment.

Focusing on high productivity and accuracy in logistics services, Agility needed a comprehensive solution allowing temperature controlled storage.

The project has been divided into 3 phases and Span has handed over the first phase which features very narrow aisle (VNA) and selective racking early this year. Bay loads capacity are up to 20 tons and feature in rack sprinkler systems.

This racking, laid out on the 60,000 m2 floor goes as high as 15m thus leveraging the building's full 16m height. The storage capacity of the initial phase is 95,000 pallet locations aside from the seven additional rooms fitted with high quality system shelving required for the storage of small items.
