- PRESS RELEASE
The 5th National Career Exhibition for the Banking & Financial Sectors starts Sunday, 2nd March at Expo Centre Sharjah.
Speaking on the eve of the show, H.E. Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry said, "Each successive year, the exhibition has facilitated the process of Emiratisation in the finance sector and helped balance the gap in the job market. However, this necessitates that the other sectors too actively embark on the Emiratisation process, giving an opportunity to the national youth to pursue responsible careers in their respective organisations. The other sectors would do well to study and incorporate the experiences of the finance sector in this process," he added.
Continuing on the successful tradition of its past four editions, the 5th National Career Exhibition for the Banking & Financial Sectors this year is more comprehensive and diversified, with greater participation from varied government and private sector firms besides the targeted banks and finance institutions.
Sponsored by the Human Resources Development Committee in the Banking Sector, the Emirates Institute for Banking & Financial Studies and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the coming show enjoys the participation of key organisations in the financial sector. These include ABN Amro Bank N. V., Arab Bank for Investment and Foreign Trade, Dubai Bank, Citibank, Commercial Bank International, Dubai Islamic Bank, Emirates Bank International, HSBC, Mashreq Bank, National Bank of Abu Dhabi, National Bank of Dubai, National Bank of Sharjah, National Bank of Umm Al Quwain, Standard Chartered Bank, The Commercial Bank of Dubai, United National Bank - Abu Dhabi, United Arab Bank, RAK Bank etc.
Government organisations at the show include the General Pension & Social Security Authority and the Administrative Development Institute. Again, prominent educational institutions and universities are participating, including Skyline College, University of Sharjah, UAE University, New Horizons Computer Learning Centre, American University of Sharjah, EIBFS, Higher College of Technology etc.
Conferences and seminars will also be held alongside the event, stressing on the need and emphasising the long term mushrooming effects of the Emiratisation process. It will also bring in focus the importance of the Cabinet Decree which stipulates that nationals be employed in the Banking & Finance Sector at the rate of 4% per annum.
"Given the participation from UAE's major financial, educational and other government institutions and departments, the show offers young nationals a complete educational and career opportunity," Mr. Midfa further commented.
The show will remain open everyday from 10am to 1pm and 5 pm to 9 pm, while the second day's (3rd March) morning session will be open exclusively for ladies.
