Muscat City Centre was presented with the highly coveted silver award at the International Council of Shopping Centre's (ICSC) MAXI Award ceremony, where it was recognised for its excellence in marketing.

The honour was in the category 'Grand Opening/Expansion & Renovation', for Muscat City Centre's 16-month campaign which promoted the mall's mega-expansion project through unique marketing approaches from customer service initiatives and promotional programmes to strong communications and public relations efforts and retailer tie-ins.

The MAXI Awards Program is an initiative of the ICSC and has been held annually since 1972 for those shopping centres and companies that have designed and implemented the most successful marketing programs.

Muscat City Centre competed with shopping centres from Denmark, Australia, Poland and the USA in the 'Grand Opening/Expansion & Renovation' category to win this award.

Ibrahim Al Qasmi, General Manager, Muscat City Centre, said,

"We are all extremely proud of the Maxi award which puts Oman and Muscat City Centre on the international map of shopping malls industry. This accolade is further testimony to the retail transition this country has witnessed since the opening of Muscat City Centre. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, retailers and the mall's management for playing a key role in making this very important international victory possible.
