The company has been established in the Middle East for over 50 years and has built up longstanding relationships and a reputation for excellence and innovation in the region. Over the last few years, Mott MacDonald's presence has grown to the point that around 15% of its 14,700 employees are based in the Middle East, making a significant contribution to the company's £900m revenue.
A key theme at this year's Cityscape is sustainable design. Mott MacDonald's regional experience includes the development of sustainable building guidelines for government and private clients in the UAE, and specialist sustainable design inputs to high-profile developments on behalf of TDIC, Sorouh, Aldar and other major clients.
Internationally, Mott MacDonald has won several prestigious awards including the Civic Trust Sustainability Award for the Environmental Information Centre for Northern Ireland and a whole host of awards including the Built In Quality Award for Environmentally Sustainable Construction for the Manchester Civil Justice Centre.
Ian Clarke, Mott MacDonald's Managing Director for the Middle East, said:
"We are proud to be involved with some of the UAE's most exciting projects including design for a major oil and gas storage and export facility in Fujairah, the UAE's first monorail system, one of the world's premier golf estates, a new surface master transport plan, the region's first float glass production facilities and Bahrain's tallest building, the Al Seef Tower."
He added, "Mott MacDonald has a lot to offer the Middle East region with world class experts across a wide range of disciplines from engineering to project management and management consultancy. As one of the worlds largest and most experienced consultants, we've developed a first rate track record both globally and locally. Particularly in the current uncertain financial markets, we are able to help our client base achieve the best design and management returns from their investments and that's why it's important for us to be at Cityscape. It's an important meeting point for clients, developers and associated service providers, as well as being seen as a barometer for confidence in the region."
