- PRESS RELEASE
The Bahrain Insurance Association (BIA) announced that it will be organizing a two-day seminar in association with the General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF), and under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain.
The seminar topics have been carefully selected, and will be presented by top experts and insurance industry professionals to ensure that participants are abreast of the latest industry trends in light of global economic market conditions.
"Bahrain has achieved pre-eminence as the regional financial services centre through the Government's wise and far-sighted policy of maintaining an open and diversified economy, and by paying close attention to legal and regulatory infrastructure," remarked Mr. Ashraf Bseisu, Chairman of Bahrain Insurance Association.
"This has provided the framework for Bahrain's insurance industry to flourish, and for Bahrain to become the region's insurance hub. Moreover, it has enabled the insurance industry to remain resilient in the face of the financial crisis, and to act as a stabilizing force amidst market volatility," he added.
"This important seminar will discuss the most expedient insurance sector trends and challenges, and identify the most important lessons to be learned from the current economic turmoil. It will also provide an optimal networking opportunity, and a solid platform for the exchange of ideas and information," Mr. Bseisu concluded.
The 'Enterprise Risk Management & Corporate Governance: Present Challenges & the Financial Crisis' seminar, is expected to draw a large pool of participants representing mid to top-level management in the regional financial sector and insurance & reinsurance sector in particular.
