Cairo GDN Conference proves success with the support of MCIT

The Washington-based organization, Global Development Network in collaboration with the Economic Research Forum for the Arab World, Turkey and Iran, recently praised the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) for supporting its 4th annual conference which took place January 18-20, 2003.

Held under the patronage of H.E. the First Lady, the 'Globalization and Equity' Conference gathered more than 500 researchers and development experts from 40 countries to advice on improving social, economic situations in developing countries.

Director of GDN expressed the Organization's appreciation to H.E. the Minister of Communications and Information Technology asserting the success of the Cairo Conference and stressing that the success was due to the 'well managed and orchestrated' IT component, and the technical support provided by MCIT staff. MCIT supported the conference by providing necessary IT requirements for the Knowledge Fair, Cyber Café, and the Secretariat.
