Dubai team dazzles at the BIT 2003

For the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and its 18 co-participants the recently concluded International Tourism Exchange (BIT 2003) at Milan served as an excellent platform to generate some positive business and future commitments because of the presence of 5000 exhibitors from 128 countries and 135,557 decision makers from the international tourism and trade industry at the event.

The department participated in the exhibition for the 13th consecutive year.

DTCM Deputy Manager Overseas Promotions, Abdulla Al Falasi called the event one of the leading exhibitions for the world's tourism and travel industry. "The event serves as a meeting ground for Italian and international decision makers from travel industry to develop business and learn new and emerging trends of the tourism sector," said Mr. Al Falasi

He stated that with the event served a significant objective where both exhibitors and professionals, while discussing their views thread bare, offered increasing business opportunities. BIT 2003 organised an enriching series of seminars and master classes. These programmes simultaneously offer training and the opportunity to deliberate on varied international experiences. "There was presence of some of the most brilliant minds in the fields of international economy and tourism. The distinguished speakers analysed and identified the trends and emerging development areas in the different geographical regions and markets," said Mr. Al Falasi

The event was also attended by about 44,000 trade operators as well as 46,000 travellers. "BIT seeks to target informed travellers for whom the trade show is an opportunity to gather information and useful contacts for planning their vacations," said Mr. Al Falasi
