Global defence leaders confirm delegations at UAE Advanced Defence and Security Technology Summit

With less than two weeks to go until the opening of the inaugural UAE Advanced Defence and Security Technology Summit, held under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Defence and taking place in Dubai on 27-28 April, the world's leading defence and security nations have now confirmed their attending delegations, focusing on how technological advances can offer solutions to today's key defence, military and security issues.

Proceedings will be opened by His Excellency Lt. General Obaid Mohammed Al-Kaabi, Undersecretary, UAE Ministry of Defence, followed by General Khalid Al-Sarayreh, Chairman of the Joint Committee of Chiefs of Staff for the Jordanian Armed Forces.

They will be joined in a prestigious opening ceremony - sponsored by Northrop Grumman - by General Charles A. Horner, Former Commander in Chief, North American Aerospace Defense Command, Sir Roger Wheeler, Former Chief of the General Staff at the UK Ministry of Defence and Lieutenant General Raza Muhammad Khan, Deputy Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Pakistan Armed Forces.

The summit will also welcome leading delegations from the UAE Armed Forces, Air Force and Naval Forces, as well as from the Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA) and the National Crisis & Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA). Alongside the strong UAE presence, delegations will be present from the five other GCC countries, including the Bahrain Coast Guard, the Kuwaiti Armed Forces, Oman, Qatar and the Saudi Arabian National Guard, as well as a lead delegation from Iraq.

Outside of the Gulf region, strong representation will come from the US Department of Defence, including Dr Linton Wells, Force Transformation Chair at the Center for Technology & National Security Policy and a leading Pentagon computer networks expert, who will provide a keynote address on the use of technology in protecting critical infrastructure. Further US representation will come from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

All attending delegations will be making themselves available to meet with commercial delegates over the course of the two days, providing unrivalled opportunities to engage and discuss the solutions crucial to maintaining security in the Gulf and the implications to the wider world.
