- PRESS RELEASE
Due to arrive this month the Chrysler PT Cruiser - PT stands for Personal Transportation - is the retro-look vehicle that is so versatile that it can be anything from a luxury sedan, with ample room for five adults, to a compact Multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).
The PT Cruiser will be powered by a 2.4 litre DOHC, 16-valve engine that prodiuces 150 bhp @ 5,500 rpm and 162 ft lb of torque. The four-speed automatic gearbox features wide spaced gear ratios that contribute to brisk acceleration in the city and smooth highway cruising.
Inside the versatility of the PT Cruiser means that the 65/35 split rear seats can be folded flat, tumbled forward or removed for a totally flat rear load area. For added efficiency, the front passenger seat can also be folded completely forward for use as a table for the driver or for enough space to carry an two-metre ladder with the liftgate closed.
A five-position rear parcel shelf panel can be used not only to conceal luggage but also as a table top for tailgate parties.
"The PT Cruiser will change the landscape of the region's automotive market," added Ohms. "It will also change the way people view the Chrysler brand creating an image as important as the vehicle itself."
