Acer's new channel partner program 'empowers people' in the Middle East
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, March 02 - 2003 at 11:09
- PRESS RELEASE
Acer, one of the world's top branded PC vendors, today announced a wide-ranging campaign to increase its sales in the retail technology market in the Middle East, highlighted by its recent highly-successful channel partner meeting in Dubai.
"Our channel partners are critical to our continued success in the marketplace and meetings like this demonstrate our commitment to helping them achieve business growth and profitability," said Krishna Murthy, General Manager, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd., who spoke at the event.
Taking a lead from one of Acer's core themes, "Empowering People," the interactive event presented new policies and services for its present and potential partners. It also highlighted some of the ground-breaking products that will be available in 2003, such as new ranges of LCD monitors and the latest Notebook computers.
Acer's initiative comes at a critical time in the computer retail market in the Middle East. New research from the Madar Research Group suggests that PC penetration has doubled in the region in the past four years, and Acer is preparing an aggressive go-to-market campaign in order to win sales in this highly dynamic sector.
The Channel Partner Program forms an essential part of this strategy. Acer's partners receive ongoing support, including access to highly-trained technical staff and a dedicated Web site containing up-to-the-minute product, marketing and other critical and useful information. In addition, channel partners benefit from the sales leads and opportunities that result from Acer's innovative brand advertising campaigns. This ongoing support helps partners win business, which in turn assists Acer's plans for growth.
"Acer realizes that different channel groups have different needs and requirements, so we've designed our program to cater for a range of organizations," said Jacob Varghese, Regional Sales Manager, UAE, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. "We also know that partners want a reliable provider of high quality products and services, and that's exactly what we deliver."
"This year, we're going to help our partner network achieve greater levels of success than ever before, and so build upon our achievements in the region," added Varghese
