ECSSR to participate in London Book Fair

The Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) will showcase its high-quality English and Arabic publications at the London Book Fair from April 20-22, 2009.
A selection of ECSSR publications in both Arabic and English will be exhibited at the fair, analyzing various strategic, political, economic and social issues specifically relevant to the United Arab Emirates and other GCC countries, as well as matters related to the Arab world in general and the most important regional and global developments in international relations, military and security issues and energy.
Among the books on display will be original and translated titles by reputed authors from the Arab world and beyond. Other ECSSR publications include a range of scholarly, refereed studies in Arabic and English.
Among the more recent releases is Future Arabian Gulf Energy Sources: Hydrocarbon, Nuclear or Renewable? which discusses trends and projections for Gulf energy requirements in the coming decades and addresses the need for greater conservation of energy and electricity, as well as methods with which to reduce the anticipated surge in regional demand.
It also examines the potential role of renewable energy in the Gulf in powering both electricity generation and transport, and assesses the suitability of nuclear energy as an alternative source of power generation in the coming decades.
The London Book Fair is one of the largest book fairs in Europe. The fair also features cultural events such as debates and lectures on issues pertaining to the publishing industry.
