Optoma launches latest projector technology solution at Gitex Saudi Arabia 2009

Optoma, a global vendor of unique, innovative digital projection and display devices, today announced its participation in Gitex Saudi Arabia 2009 as part of plans to strengthen their growing presence across the MEA region.

During the exhibition, Optoma will be announcing exclusive offers & announcements, as well as showcasing popular models from their diverse range of large, full screen HD & data projectors.

Optoma is currently positioned as 2nd place vendor across the global projector market. In the Middle East region Optoma achieved 4th place during 2008.

Between 2007 and 2008 alone, Optoma's KSA business sales increased by over 300% with a solid & growing 15% market share in KSA in Q3 in 2008. Sales in Q1 2009 are 50% higher than sales in Q1 2008.

"We feel that a significant event such as Gitex Saudi Arabia is the ideal platform to maximize on the region's strong potential across the Middle East, specifically in key markets such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where the IT spend accounts for almost 40% in the Middle East."


The range on display will include Optoma solutions for all segments from Education, Installation, Home or the Office including the Optoma 'Pico' projector - smallest projector to launch across the region at Gitex Dubai in October 2008. In addition, Optoma will be demonstrating large screen, full HD projectors - including the latest Home Cinema projector, the Optoma HD82, as well as a range of short throw projectors.

"With the local projector market expected to grow phenomenally, at this year's Gitex Saudi Arabia we are not only looking to increase our brand awareness but also to educate visitors on the latest Optoma product offering into the technology market. We have a much larger stand at this year's show - via one of our partners Al Maktaba - and will therefore have a bigger and better space to showcase some of our latest projectors, as well as our most popular products from both the Home Cinema/Entertainment and Business solutions to suit all requirements & budgets," he added.

Since entering the Middle East in 2006, Optoma continues to establish itself as one of the fastest growing regional players achieving continuous growth year on year. Markets across the region grew by just over 55% in the first half of 2008 compared with the first half in 2007; at the same time Optoma's sales grew by 125%. Optoma has since climbed from 6th place DLP vendor in 2007 to 3rd place in the first half of 2008 & 2nd place in Q3 of 2008.

Optoma will continue its dedication to the local market as it seeks to expand its local operation with dedicated in-country staff, and having established new websites, while providing a wide range of projectors to businesses and consumers in key markets across the region.
