IBM projectors make their debut in the Middle East
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, March 02 - 2003 at 13:19
- PRESS RELEASE
IBM Middle East has introduced its technology-leading line of data/video projectors in this region, announcing today the launch of its lightest and brightest projector - the new IBM iLM300 MicroPortable Data/Video Projector.
"This super-slim projector is an outstanding piece of technology. It is designed to help lighten the load of executives on the road, while making life easier with it's no-fuss functionality. The IBM iLM300MicroPortable Data/Video projector fits comfortably in a briefcase, making it ideal for businessmen who spend a lot of time shuttling between airplanes, taxicabs and hotel rooms," said Sameh Farid, regional manager, personal computing division, IBM Middle East.
"Projectors are a vital part of any effective business communication and importantly a fast-growing hardware segment in the PC industry, both in the business and home entertainment segments. The technology at the heart of the modern projector needs to be very sophisticated to meet the brightness and clarity demands of the user. We have decided to introduce IBM's line of projectors in the Middle East as our unique technologies meet these demands and provide more value than any other brand in the market."
The new iLM300 MicroPortable Data/Video Projector delivers bright, bold images (at 1,100 lumens) and offers outstanding quality images that can be adjusted to multiple resolutions, including SXGA (1280x1024), XGA (1024x768) and SVGA (800x600). Projecting images from a distance of up to 30 feet, the light image is so bright that the presenter does not need to dim the lights in the room during a presentation, under most circumstances. The MicroPortable Data/Video Projector offers DLP technology, which helps yield crystal-clear images, supports both digital and analogue connectors and is HDTV compatible. The projector lamp is designed to last for more than 2,000 hours and needs little maintenance.
IBM's MicroPortable projector is specifically optimised for use with all IBM A, T, R, and X Series ThinkPads. Auto-sensing electronics instantly identify the video and computer signals from these IBM ThinkPad notebook computers and automatically set up the image, allowing the user to simply plug and project. Setting up a presentation for a meeting becomes a matter of point and click using the ThinkPad Presentation Wizard, pre-loaded on all ThinkPad models, which helps ensure that the ThinkPad's energy-saving features do not interfere with the presentation when the computer is left idle for any length of time.
Other Projector Options from IBM:
IBM iLC2000 Conference Room Data/Video Projector
The Conference Room Projector is a lightweight, feature-rich projector with high XGA resolution, 2,000 lumens brightness and a 3-watt integrated speaker. Easy operation includes instant-on, automatic picture calibration and low noise for easier interaction with an audience. The DCDi technology helps produce smooth, natural images by reducing staircasing and jagged edges visible on the moving, angled lines in video.
IBM iLV200 ValueBased Data/Video Projector
At 5.7 pounds, the IBM ValueBased Data/Video Projector packs many features into a sleek, compact package and represents a solid, low-cost option for education, government, budget-conscious or first-time users. A built-in manual zoom and focus lens enables users to accommodate almost any room size, conference table, or media cart without scrambling to reposition the projector. The dimmer switch allows reduced-brightness projection at 1600 lumens to help prolong the life of the lamp. Precision optics with SVGA resolution, a powerful lamp and built-in speaker round out a portable, full-featured data/video projection solution.
