DTCM wins 'Golden Shield' for participation in Sharjah Used Book Festival

His Excellency Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, honoured the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing for its participation in the Sharjah Used Book Festival organized by the Sharjah City of Humanitarian Services from March 4 to 8.

At a ceremony held in Sharjah on April 16, he presented Golden Shield which was received by Nabila Mukhtar of DTCM.

The award was in recognition of DTCM being the best organization and the participant during the festival.

Mr. Ahmed Al Feel, Head of Administration Services at DTCM, said:

"We are delighted about winning the Golden Shield Award. This clearly suggests that our library is developing well for the public and community service."


He said the department participated in the festival in response to directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

DTCM Library participated in this festival for the dissemination of the book culture and the development and strengthening of the spirit of volunteerism in the community through the provision of books in all fields and in all languages.

The DTCM Library offered and sold books through the special tent had been allocated to the DTCM during the festival.
