In this project Net Group joined hands with Mr. Ricardo Velasco, who has more than 20 years of experience in tour operating and airlines and who currently serves Akilanga, a high-class tour operator of South Africa.
Based in Rio de Janeiro and with associated offices in Sao Paulo, Argentina, Chile and Mexico, Mr. Ricardo Velasco will be able to penetrate the superbrand status awarded Net Group into this emerging new market for groups, FIT and MICE business.
Velasco's market knowledge combined with the right product will generate new leads for business:
"The Gulf region is now very much requested due to the direct flights and we will study possible combinations with South Africa also. Our commitment is to be a leading brand visible worldwide capable of generating business from each region. Our aim is to be the leader in specialisation, service and quality of products."
stated Mr. Velasco.
2009 is an important year in terms of overseas expansions with 3 more offices to open worldwide in addition to the South American one. I am sure that together, Net Group and Akilanga will be able to gain a good share of the market with interesting packages." commented Anwar Abu Monassar, Acting Group General Manager for the Net Group.
Carmen Flaminio, Director of Sales & Marketing for the Net Group, has shown optimism at the project: " a presence on the ground will definitely enhance our potential in South America. We have been active in the region following contacts generated at FITUR 2007 and ATM 2008 and this step will surely bring new and important leads. We are creating packages with focus on this new market" she commented.
