DHL Supply Chain strengthens Middle East footprint with strategic appointment
- Middle East: Tuesday, April 21 - 2009 at 12:32
DHL Supply Chain has appointed Jez McQueen as head of Industrial Development for its Middle East operations.
Adding a wealth of experience to the DHL Supply Chain Regional Team, McQueen, who is well established in the region and has charted a successful 16 year career in business development and operations, has until recently been leading the logistics product development agenda for DHL Supply Chain to support industrial customers over the last two years.
McQueen's extensive logistics knowledge and broad customer contacts have been instrumental in securing large regional contracts, and this background stands him in good stead to provide an increasing focus on bespoke products tailored to the industrial sectors.
According to Dan Wood, VP Business Development, Middle East, the appointment is in line with DHL's ambitious five year plan, Strategy 2015. "We want to consolidate and build on our industrial sector services business that makes up a significant percentage of our turnover in the region. There is growing customer demand for more innovative cross-divisional sector specific solutions and this increased resourcing will help us to assimilate our sector knowledge and more effectively leverage the expertise of teams from around the world working on similar logistics problems, all in the interest of the customer," said Wood.
The senior appointment further consolidate DHL's position as market leader in the Middle East, where the company has been offering world-class express and logistics services to customers for over 30 years.
