4G, IPTV, Connect Plus are Mobily's top features at Gitex
- Saudi Arabia: Wednesday, April 22 - 2009 at 10:07
- PRESS RELEASE
Mobily is showcasing some of the world's most pioneering technologies at Gitex 2009 in Riyadh, some of which the company is the first to ever bring into the Kingdom.
Another highlight unique to Mobily is the aptly named Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), which provides interactive, on-demand TV content through broadband Internet.
Mobily's latest Connect device is Connect Plus, a Modem-cum-mobile phone that combines the functions of a modem, mobile phone and MP3 player in one tiny device that's capable of performing all three functions uninterrupted at the same time.
Mobily set up special sections in its huge 1600-square meter booth for Apple's 3G iPhone.
Also, Mobily showcased an innovative vending machine, with which subscribers can use their Neqaty credit points to buy snacks and refreshments. They can also use the machine to deposit cash and top up their prepaid accounts. Raqi subscribers get to see a top-floor view of the entire booth from the balcony of their lavish section.
Another section was set up for the deaf and those with special needs. Another service - or rather self-service - lets subscribers download ringtones and software directly to their mobile phones from a special machine - a sort of special jukebox.
As Mobily normally did at every Gitex since 2005, the company dazzled visitors with amazing entertainment shows that ranged from a Titan robot to popular poetry contests and acrobatics.
There is also a special section for Mobily's soccer partner Alhilal, which display's the teams championships and achievements. Stars of the team mingle with their fans, have their pictures taken with them and sign T-shirts for them.
