These figures reflect Jaguar's strong position in the region, and are due in part to the success of the award winning Jaguar XF, which made up over half of Jaguar's total sales in 2008 and continues to go from strength to strength in 2009.
In 2008, Jaguar sold more than 65,000 cars worldwide - an increase of 8% over 2007 and one of only a handful of automotive brands to report a year-on-year sales increase. Sales in the Middle East & North Africa region were up 35% over the same period. With positive growth for 2009, and an exciting new product line-up due to arrive in the next few months, Jaguar looks set to continue its success in the region.
Robin Colgan, Managing Director for Middle East & North Africa, said:
"Jaguar is committed to building beautiful, fast cars and these recent figures prove that we are getting it right with a line-up that really appeals to customers in this region."
The latest Jaguars to hit the Middle East market will be the stunning XFR and the new 2010 Model Year XK. Continuing the success of the XF and XK globally and in the Middle East, the new cars provide a thrilling drive that exudes advanced power, performance and style. Both models will be available in showrooms across the Middle East from summer 2009.
