Flights to the Egyptian city of Alexandria will start on 22 June and flights to Salalah in Oman will commence on 01 July. Both destinations will operate 3 times per week and will operate until mid September.

"Summer is always a peak travel period as many residents, including a large number of expatriates, look to spend quality vacation time in these popular destinations," says Gulf Air Director of Sales Mr. Kyle Haywood.

"For this summer season, we chose to introduce special flights to these two popular leisure and cultural spots in response to positive customer feedback. With the 'best fare guaranteed' and a wide range of hotels that can be booked instantly online at www.gulfair.com, I am sure customers will take advantage of this great opportunity whilst seats remain available," concluded Mr. Haywood.

Alexandria, known as 'The Pearl of the Mediterranean' is one of the most beautiful summer destinations, offering the best of Mediterranean and the Middle Eastern culture.

Oman's Salalah, known as the perfume city of Arabia, has some of the region's pristine beaches along the shores of the Arabian Sea in a tropical setting. Salalah is also an excellent regional escape from the soaring summer temperatures.

Founded in 1950, Gulf Air is the proud national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Having been operating for over half a Century, it ranks as one of the oldest airlines in the Middle East region. Though it continually strives to develop; its goal has remained unchanged - to maintain a constant commitment to the latest aviation technology and an adherence to traditional Arabian hospitality. One of the prime motives of the carrier is to link Bahrain to the GCC as well as connect it to the rest of the world. The airline's network stretches from Europe to Asia, connecting 41 cities in 27 countries, with a current fleet consisting of 32 aircraft. Renown for its direct network to its non-stop flights schedules, Gulf Air covers the Middle East, the Americas, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

The airline's business strategy is to re-fleet itself over the next five years to further strengthen its presence and continue its aim to become the carrier of choice. It recently signed a deal with Boeing worth nearly $6bn to purchase up to 24 Boeing 787 aircraft, and another deal with Airbus for 35 aircraft, including A320s and A330s.
