The delegation has travelled to Cannes, France to attend MIPIM, which runs at the city's Palais des Festivals until March 7.
'With real estate exhibitors from 65 countries taking part, MIPIM gives us an ideal opportunity to nurture and create possible future cross-border partnerships and examine the latest industry trends,' explained Lee Tabler, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Festival City LLC.
'We are looking to meeting and exploring the potential with decision-makers, investors and end-users in the international real estate sector.'
MIPIM is the sister event of MAPIC, the global retail industry trade show which was held in Cannes last November and at which Dubai Festival City launched the masterplan development onto the international arena.
'Dubai Festival City received an enthusiastic response from MAPIC and we have now entered into discussions with major retail operators from France, Italy and the Near East as well as innovative food and beverage outlet providers from the USA,' said Tabler.
'We are hoping to receive the same encouragement from MIPIM, where we are introducing global real estate experts to the unique Dubai Festival City waterfront project.'
The Dubai Festival City masterplan spans 15 distinct communities encompassing retail, residential, leisure, entertainment, dining and office components.
'The project is over three times the size of Monaco and in terms of scale and scope is unique in the region, if not the world,' said Tabler.
Work on the 18-hole recreational golf course at Dubai Festival City is well underway with the first residential showhouses due for completion later this year. The course, designed by world-renowned golf course designer Robert Trent Jones II LLC, is scheduled to be open for play in early 2004.
