MTV Arabia to air excerpts of region's first Coldplay concert

MTV Arabia, the Middle East's leading music and entertainment channel, today announced it will air excerpts of the Grammy-Award-winning Coldplay's first performance in the Middle East at 6:00pm UAE on 23 April.
The excerpts will be aired during the weekly Wayakom show that focuses on latest events in the region. In addition, a face-to-face with Coldplay band members, and interviews with fans and MTV Arabia competition winners of free tickets to the concert, will also be aired.
Coldplay has sold more than 30 million records worldwide and is widely recognised as one of the most famous rock bands of the new millennium, rocketing to success in 2000 with the single 'Yellow' from their debut album 'Parachutes'.
The band's current album 'Viva La Vida' is one of the most commercially successful rock albums released this decade and has earned seven nominations at this year's Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. Other Coldplay hits include 'Viva La Vida', 'Violet Hill', 'Lost', 'Fix You', 'Clocks', 'The Scientist', and 'Lovers in Japan'.
A joint venture between MTV Networks International and Arabian Television Network, part of Arab Media Group, the largest media group in the UAE, MTV Arabia aims to reach out to young audiences through its unique programming that remains sensitive to local cultural values while offering world class entertainment.
