"This workshop with our sales partners in the industry is an exciting time for us as it reflects the culmination of a yearlong effort, extensive planning and our vision to create a top class airline that is designed to be the pride of Kuwait - as well as an attractive premium service for the discerning Lebanese traveller,"
said George Cooper, CEO for Wataniya Airways.
The workshop featured a presentation by Wataniya Airways executives detailing important information differentiating the airline's top-class offering from that of other commercial carriers flying short-haul flights to and from Kuwait.
Among many key differentiators for Wataniya Airways are that it is the first and only Kuwaiti commercial airline to fly in and out of the prestigious Sheikh Saad Terminal. As one of the largest private aviation terminals in the world, it offers a high-tech modern design with various hospitality services, ample car parking spaces, luxurious first class lounges and convenient check-in facilities that omit the hustle and bustle of the regular airport terminal.
From the highly-trained call centre staff to the highly-experienced aircraft crew, the Wataniya Airways team's motto of "achieving new heights" is realized in the standard of service and care of its guests at every step of their journey.
Wataniya Airways will be the first in the region to provide state of the art in-flight entertainment and high-tech solutions on board its new luxury Airbus A320 aircraft, providing its guests with special facilities that will appeal to both leisure and business travellers.
With a total of only 122 seats on the aircraft, 26 First Class and 96 Premium Economy Class Seats, Wataniya Airways offers unparalleled room and comfort for all guests with the lowest seat density of an A320 of any scheduled airline in the world.
The new fleet will also be fitted with ergonomically crafted Recaro leather seating throughout the aircraft. German-based Recaro provides the ultimate in comfort and is generally reserved for high-end luxury sports cars lines such as Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini.
The personal entertainment selection will create an outstanding personal home theatre experience and the new aircraft technology will provide First Class guests additional features by allowing them to plug their iPods (or similar MP3 devices) directly into sockets located in their seat.
And for the first time ever in the region, busy travellers can send and receive SMSs and emails on their mobile phones and Blackberries using OnAir innovative technology. The ability to use and recharge personal communications devices, including laptops, on Wataniya Airways planes will be an added value to business and leisure travellers.
Beirut-based Global Holidays is the General Sales Agent for Wataniya Airways in the Republic of Lebanon. The versatile travel advisor is the sister-concern of UAE-based Planet Group, which is a conglomerate of over 11 companies in the United Arab Emirates with overseas offices. Global Holidays is one of the visions of the Planet Group Chairman, Mr. Georges Moussa.
Mr. Georges Moussa advised: "The concept behind Wataniya Airways is to provide a premium service to the high-end traveller and Beirut-based Global Holidays, as General Sales Agent to Wataniya Airways, will work together with the airline towards supporting increased passenger flow from Beirut to Kuwait.
Planet Group's Chief Operating Officer for travel, Mr. Ibrahim Nalkhande added, "Travel is part of the Lebanese lifestyle and we at Global Holidays are proud to be linked with Wataniya Airways, which provides a very focused and valuable product for our market".
