The event also offered the participating students the chance to test drive and experience the high performance of the latest Volkswagen models: Passat CC, Scirocco and Golf VI.
Joerg Andrischock, Acting Managing Director of Volkswagen Middle East said:
"We are overwhelmed with the high level of interest from the students and saw excellent talent and team work within the event. Volkswagen is committed to supporting and encouraging the youth in the Middle East to show their skills and interests."
The 3-on-3 football matches took place in a special cage, designed as a football pitch and gave the opportunity for Saudi football enthusiasts to prove their skills and a chance to win the Volkswagen University Football Cup 2009. Sixty four three-player teams participated from each city and competed to acquire the title. Only the top three teams were honored from each city.
Mr. Andrischock ended:
"Volkswagen Middle East supports the growth of youth culture in the region, especially in the sporting arena. This event demonstrates how significant the connection is between our brand's heritage and the sporting world, especially with the recent launches of the Volkswagen sporty Scirocco, iconic Golf VI and luxurious sedan-coupé Passat CC in the Middle East."
