  • PRESS RELEASE

The Cotswolds region of Britain, introduces visitors to outstanding beauty, charm and peace.

It is the largest designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England and Wales, and is also one of the most tourist visited areas in the UK outside of London.

This charming countryside is an ideal getaway for GCC visitors looking to escape their hectic pace of life and hot summer temperatures.

The timeless quality of the place entices visitors to relax while discovering the rich history and culture of its towns such as Cheltenham and Bath.

According to Carol Maddison, VisitBritain's Marketing Manager - UAE, said:
"The Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful regions of the UK, steeped in rural charm and historical cultures. It is officially designated by the British Government as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; GCC residents planning their summer holidays would truly enjoy the unique experience of discovering the Cotswolds countryside."

Cotswolds' appeal lies in its rolling hills dotted with quaint villages, where the streets are lined with charming, centuries-old houses and half-timbered buildings dating from the Middle Ages. Ancient and immaculately preserved limestone villages nestle in hidden valleys amongst the breathtaking beauty of the countryside.

Tourists can shop at some of the oldest chartered weekly markets in the country, stroll around the market town to shop or take time out for a leisurely ramble and stop for a meal in a traditional pub.

"The UK is a very popular destination among GCC travellers, and VisitBritain aims to encourage them to explore the countryside, as well as the cities in the UK, as there is an immense wealth of history and culture to be discovered and enjoyed all over Britain," added Maddison.
