Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts continues its expansion with new hotel to open in Beirut this year

The property, located on the Corniche, will offer 189 rooms and 49 suites, catering to discerning business and leisure travellers. The company has appointed one of its veteran staff, Stefan Simkovics, as General Manager, effective mid-May.

This much anticipated Hotel is one of several projects for Four Seasons in the region. The company is also actively working on developments in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Kuwait and Oman.

In 2008, Four Seasons continued to add iconic properties to its portfolio. The company opened a new Hotel in Istanbul, its second property in the city, on the shores of the Bosphorus. Set in an Ottoman palace, Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus, like its sister property in the old city at Sultanahmet, is a further example of the successful restoration of a historic building.

Four Seasons also recently announced its involvement in the refurbishment of two celebrated properties in Venice: the Excelsior and Des Bains hotels.

The company also opened Four Seasons Hotel Florence last summer, after seven years of meticulous restoration of the 15th century Palazzo Della Gherardesca. These recent additions by Four Seasons complement its collection of iconic hotels in Europe, which includes Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris, Four Seasons Hotel Prague, Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest and Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva.
