GM considers Pontiac stoppage

General Motors is preparing plans to ditch its 82-year-old Pontiac division, it has been announced. Pontiac's sales have dropped 70% since 1978, and the group has been a steady money loser in recent years. GM spokesman Jim Hopson said no final decision on Pontiac's future has been made, but he said nothing is guaranteed. 'Everything has been put under review,' Hopson said.
