These inaugural events include three niche-market trade shows as well as large scale consumer show. This mix of events will bring with them a large cross-section of attendees to Abu Dhabi, and also a wealth of specialist knowledge and investment opportunities set to benefit the Capital and it's economy.

Launching on Monday is Middle East Food 2009 (27-29 April 2009), a 360° international trade fair for food; and the co-located trade event, Arabian Sweets 2009, the region's most comprehensive international fair for sweets and confectionery. These specific business-to-business trade events will be driving forces in encouraging trade across the region, with an abundance of food suppliers striking import and export deals with local and international distributors.

EIMA Gulf 2009 (28-30 April 2009), the third show which opens on Tuesday, is another highly specialised event dedicated to it's industry. The 3-day event, is the UAE's first international exhibition on agricultural and gardening machinery. Looking to attract the Middle East's leading agricultural operators and businesses, the event comes to the city at an opportune moment as the development of diversification lies at the heart of Abu Dhabi's growth plans for the next two decades.

Finally, the most exciting male lifestyle event in the GCC will make its debut at Adnec from 30th April to 2nd May. Big Boys Toys is a large scale public event set to draw in visitors from across the UAE and Gulf region.

Commenting on the launches, Simon Horgan, Adnec Group CEO said;

"Variety is a key ingredient in further growing Abu Dhabi as a business travel and special events hub. The venue's event calendar covers numerous interests, fields, professions and trades in order to attract visitor attendance to Abu Dhabi. The outstanding number of launches this week clearly indicates Adnec's success in driving forward the City's plans for economic diversification."

In addition to these launch events Adnec also welcomes Map Middle East 2009, running until 28 April, a recently relocated trade event focused on the use of new applications and technologies surrounding geospatial information.

Rounding off the activity at Adnec this week is Arab Market 2009, the well-renowned public event which makes its return to the exhibition centre once again (29 April and 8 May 2009).
