Borouge is currently making major investments to support the anticipated growth in China. The Company is currently tripling its polyolefins manufacturing capacity in Abu Dhabi to 2 million tonnes per year (t/y) by mid-2010 and is planning an additional 2,5 million t/y by 2013. Included in the latter project is low density polyethylene production capacity to meet the specific needs of the growing wire and cable infrastructure market.
Borouge is also investing in its ability to serve the Chinese market efficiently by constructing a Compound Manufacturing Unit in Shanghai for the automotive and appliances markets, and new logistics hubs in Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Products to be showcased at Chinaplas include the latest polypropylene and polyethylene innovations from Borouge and Borealis.
William Yau, Chief Executive Officer of Borouge's Marketing Company, says:
"We are committed to establishing ourselves as a reliable and long-term partner for our Chinese customers in the infrastructure, automotive and advanced packaging markets."
"Chinaplas is an ideal opportunity for us to demonstrate to a broad range of visitors how our innovative solutions and manufacturing and supply investments support our customers in meeting the needs of their customers today and in the future," Yau adds.
