Tasi index down slightly
- Saudi Arabia: Monday, April 27 - 2009 at 18:14
The Saudi Tasi stock index closed 0.36% lower at 5,420.79 points. The Media and Publishing sector lost 3.21%. The advertising industry in the GCC is under severe pressure. This has forced companies to shut down, as with Forbes Arabia which ceased operations. Kingdom Holding posted the largest loss (down 8.08%). Market bellwether Sabic declined by 1.67%. As has occurred frequently since the beginning of 2008, an insurance operator bucked the negative trend: Walaa Insurance gained 9.96%.
