Rehab Lootah, CEO of the Award, said that the final ceremony will witness the honoring of the person of the year who was named by the board of trustees for this round in view of his contributions to the banking sector advancement. She added that the award in its second session was a complete success in terms of number of nominations though half of this number was excluded by the committees which applied strict standards known to be used by internationally acclaimed awards.
"335 final qualifiers of individuals and teams were evaluated as the conditions of the award allowed teams to participate provided that the members of a team shall not exceed five," Lootah added.
"The board of trustees approved 37 winners out of whom seven winners will join Mawarid Finance for the seven categories: Media, marketing and sales, banking and accounting, management and leadership, sharia and law, information technology, entrepreneurship, Islamic finance products and insurance; the number of winners has increased from 31 winners and their names will be announced during the ceremony,"
Lootah explained.
"The highest number of participants made applications to the management and leadership category and the least to the banking and Islamic insurance, and this may be due to the recent creation of these two categories rather than the financial crisis; we will also honor those who weren't lucky enough to win as a token of appreciation for their participation, and the same applies to organizations and institutions who contributed to the success of the award".
