Western Union launches UAE-South Africa money transfer service

Western Union, a leader in global money transfer services, has announced the launch of its money transfer service from UAE to South Africa.

Starting April, customers will be able to use Western Union Money Transfer Service to send money to over 30 Absa Bank locations across South Africa.

Money transferred via Western Union is available for pick-up within minutes from Agent locations in the South African cities of Atlantis, Benoni, Booysens, Bramley, Cape Town, Durban, East London, Heerengracht, Johannesburg, Kimberley, Kroonstad, Midrand, Nelspruit, Polokwane, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria, Rustenburg, Sandton, Stanger and Thabazimbi.

Jean Claude Farah, Senior Vice President for Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan, Western Union Financial Services said, "Global migration is the cornerstone of the growth we have experienced as a money transfer service provider, and this new service reflects the heightened demand from South Africans in the region. The joint initiative with the Absa Group further delivers on our promise and commitment to enhance our network and provide our customers with easy and convenient access to our service."

Expatriates using Western Union to send money benefit from a reliable, simple and hassle-free money-transfer process that doesn't require the receivers to have a bank account to collect the money.

In the United Arab Emirates, the Western Union Money Transfer service is available in over 400 Agent locations operating through established financial institutions such as Al Ansari Exchange, Al Fuad Exchange, Al Ghurair Exchange, Al Razouki International Exchange, Alukkas Exchange, Emirates India International Exchange, Emirates Post, Federal Exchange, Habib Exchange, Lari Exchange, National Exchange, Orient Exchange, Travelex Emirates, UAE Exchange, Wall Street Exchange, and Redha Al Ansari Exchange.
