DTCM Executive Overseas Promotions, Khalifa Buamaim, who represented the department at the event, said that the exhibition provided us a platform to showcase Dubai's potential and infrastructures to the Turkish market. "The exhibition enjoyed excellent environment to display Dubai amenities. It worked as a hub for Eastern Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, North African and Far Eastern countries, their travel agency unions and tour operators thus reaching the target audience," said Mr. Buamaim.

He noted that Dubai stand generated excellent business with many tour operators showing keen interest in the emirate. "Many tour operators showed their inclination to organize trips to Dubai. We also had an opportunity to interact with the domestic and foreign companies interested in Dubai and even started to get favorable results," said Mr. Buamaim.

Mr. Buamain noted that the year 2002 registered a considerable increase in the number of Turkish hotel establishment guests: "There has been an increases of 65 per cent in the year 2002 compared to the year 2001".

About 12,000 Turkish hotel establishment guests were in the emirate during the month long Dubai Shopping Festival. There are 12 flights everyday between Turkey and Dubai.
