Gulf Air honours 11 Bahraini graduates from Ayla Aviation Academy

A total of 11 Bahrainis have graduated with their commercial pilot's license from the Ayla Aviation Academy in Aqaba, Jordan, following an intensive flight training program co-sponsored by Bahrain's national flag carrier, Gulf Air and the Bahrain Development Bank.

Gulf Air Chief People Officer Mr. Ahmed Al Banna and Flight Crew Recruitment Manager, Captain Aud Ahmed Al Tauqi attended the graduation ceremony held earlier this month at the Academy to mark their achievement.

Mr Al Banna said, "We are very proud of these graduates. They are the first wave of Bahraini students to graduate from the Ayla Aviation Academy under the training flight programme."

"Our sponsorship of this and other programmes like it is an important aspect of Gulf Air's strategy to develop the country's wealth of young talent and invest in their potential so they are equipped with important skills to enhance their future careers. It is the young, up and coming generation that will secure the future success of our country and so, as the Kingdom's national flag carrier, we see it as our responsibility to encourage them and help them to succeed," he added.

"Gulf Air wishes them all the best for a bright career ahead and looks forward to one day welcoming them to our family to benefiting from the expertise and enthusiasm they will bring on board," he concluded.

In his speech given at the graduation ceremony, Ayla Aviation Academy Chief Executive Officer Mr Marwan Atalla said, "Ayla Academy is proud of our future pilots here today. With aviation becoming a demanding job in the region nowadays, we are elated to have inspired you and helped you reach this important mark at the start of a rewarding career. I wish each cadet good luck and every success in the days to come."

Ayla Aviation Academy was originally founded by the Near East Group and Atlantic Flight Training. Based in Aqaba, Jordan, Ayla offers aspiring pilots an opportunity to train using state-of-the-art aircraft, simulators and training techniques. The academy is Royal Jordanian approved and is the only academy in Jordan that is Gulf Air approved.
