Sunil Singh, Chairman, India Club received the award from H. H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai at a glittering ceremony held at Grand Hyatt, Dubai on Wednesday, April 22, 2009.
He was accompanied by Siddharth Balachandran, Vice - Chairman, India Club and Bharat Chachara, General Manager, India Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Singh said that the Dubai Quality Awards presented an international benchmark for quality and is recognition of the business excellence, best practices and outstanding performance of one of the oldest Clubs in Dubai.
The award was also a testimony of the great support and dedication of the India Club trustees, board of directors, members, colleagues and business partners, who have been instrumental in the success and growth of the Club. It was also a proud moment not just for India Club but the entire Indian community.
The Dubai Quality Award, which was established in 1994 by the Department of Economic Development in Dubai under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is a framework for companies to measure their performance and achieve higher growth through leadership, innovation and continuous improvement.
India Club has been the first Club is the world to get the ISO9001:2000, which it recently upgraded to ISO9001:2008. It is also a member of the Dubai Service Excellence Scheme (DSES). Established in 1964, this 45 year old institute is one of the oldest Clubs in the Emirate of Dubai.
