Ajman Sewerage Company appoints General Manager to run Dhs 515 million project

Ajman Sewerage (Private) Company Limited has announced the appointment of Bob Taylor as General Manager of the company created to implement a Dhs 515 Million sewerage system for the Emirate of Ajman.
Commenting on his appointment, Bob Taylor said: "I welcome the challenge faced by the new position and look forward to actively helping bring the first ever modern sewerage system to the people of Ajman. My first priority is to ensure that the 9,000-plus property owners in the Emirate register their properties with the company.
"We are now contacting every property owner in Ajman to ask them to complete a registration form that will ensure their property is connected to the modern sewerage system being created for the people of Ajman. Registration is compulsory under the terms of the Sewer Law, Amiri Decree No. 4 2002 and its amendments."
A British national, Bob Taylor moves to the new position from a position as Managing Director for Vivendi Water in India. Before that he managed Vivendi's operations in Kazakhstan for nearly two years and has also worked extensively in the UK and in Australia.
A qualified civil engineer, he has been appointed by Thames Water, the leading shareholder in the Ajman Sewerage (Private) Company Limited, to his new position where he will manage the start-up and initial operations of the company that has signed a 27.5-year concession agreement for the project with the Government of Ajman.
Mr. Taylor added: "This is a tremendously significant project both for the Emirate and the region as the first privately funded project of its kind. It will bring major environmental and economic benefits to residents and businesses in Ajman and deliver the modern infrastructure system they deserve."
The Ajman Sewerage (Private) Company Limited is a joint venture company owned by the Government of Ajman, Thames Water, Black and Veatch and Six Construct. Thames Water and Black and Veatch are two world leaders in the provision of wastewater services and infrastructure systems and Six Construct, part of Belgium's Besix, is a leading civil and infrastructure constructor.
Thames Water Middle East will be the operations and maintenance contractor for the duration of the 27.5-year, build, operate and transfer contract whilst Black & Veatch is the engineering, procurement and construction contractor and Six Construct will undertake the civil engineering work on the project.
