Mr. Majali hosted the Media on a tour of the Saraya Aqaba construction site as well as a tour of the city of Aqaba. He addressed his guests by stating that
"Today marks a major milestone for Saraya Aqaba in particular and Aqaba in general. Our promise to develop the most luxurious mixed use destination in Aqaba is being materialized. Major infrastructure works are completed and most hotels and residential units are now off ground. Our pride in this development and progress stems from being part of a bigger picture that contributes to putting Aqaba on the world tourism map as a world class destination. We are honored to be part of this prosperous future"
Mr. Majali also added that almost 60% of the residential units in the destination have been sold.
The Saraya Aqaba site tour revealed significant progress on ground in terms of infrastructure. The electrical substation construction works are completed and the main underground utilities and water breakers are in advanced stages of implementation. Road works are still under progress. The skeleton works for the Grand Villas and Villas are now completed with block works in progress and significant progress has also been made on skeleton works for the Apartments and Townhouses, with block works commencing on the Townhouses.
The site tour also showcased the progress of the hotel zones construction. Rising above the horizon, concrete works for Al Manara Hotel and Westin Aqaba are completed, plastering has commenced, and electromechanical work is ready to begin. Mockup room finishing works are also progressing significantly. Skeleton works for the remaining hotels are complete, and the block works are in progress. Managed by the luxury hotel operators Starwood and Jumeirah, the hotel experience at Saraya Aqaba promises to be truly enchanting.
As a mixed use destination situated on the northern tip of the Red Sea, Saraya Aqaba features a number of luxurious residential units, a retail area (Souk Saraya), five 5-star hotels and two boutique hotels operated by the world's leaders in hospitality, namely; Jumeirah, Starwood and Nikki Beach. State-of-the-art entertainment facilities, amphitheatre, sports complex and a Water Park operated by Jumeirah (Wild Wadi) also feature in the destination.
Saraya Aqaba also includes a conference centre that caters for over 2,000 people and office space as well as a man-made lagoon that will be adding 1.5km to the beach front of the city of Aqaba.
