"Our 'Premier Inn Donation Awards' will take the form of a cash donation that will be pledged to a charitable organization that we feel demonstrates strong work within the community and makes the lives of the less fortunate better."
The Dubai based Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs has been chosen as the inaugural recipients of Premier Inn's Donation Award and will receive a donation of Dhs10,000. To commemorate the occasion children from the Al Noor Centre were invited to the Premier Inn Hotel at Dubai Investments Park to perform a dance routine in the lobby in front of hotel guests and employees.
Premier Inn is the largest hotel chain in the UK and regularly holds fund raising events and pledges donations to charitable organizations across the UK. They plan to continue that tradition here in the UAE.
"This donation is just the beginning of our charity work in the UAE," continued Reid. "Premier Inn will be opening two new hotels this year alone in Dubai and as we celebrate each hotel's first anniversary, Premier Inn will continue to pledge a donation to a designated charity. We also hope to make every Premier Inn a drop centre for donations of clothes that we will forward to the Gaza appeal."
Al Noor is a Centre for Children with Special Needs run under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs. It is passionately committed to helping special needs children from their infancy to adulthood, its goal being to integrate its students into society.
Isphana Al Khatib, Director of Al Noor said: "We are thrilled with the donation from Premier Inn; the money will benefit many students at the centre. We would like to thank Premier Inn and all its employees for their generosity and hope we can be part of their fund raising events in the future."
Premier Inn's hotels in Dubai, its first international properties outside of the UK, are operated under a joint venture between the Emirates Group and Whitbread Plc.
