- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, March 12 - 2003 at 15:19
- PRESS RELEASE
Samsung Electronics, the global leader in digital technology, is running a series of UAE-wide roadshows to educate users on the benefits of TFT-LCD technology and familiarise with the company's diverse TFT-LCD monitors and solutions.
Mr. K. S. Vasudevan, Senior Manager, Digital Information Technology Division, Samsung Gulf Electronics said: "According to market forecasts, TFT-LCD monitors are expected to be the key drivers of growth in the consolidated monitors industry. Samsung's cutting-edge technology in building world-class TFT-LCD panels combined with an award-winning suite of TFT-LCD monitors and solutions clearly position us as the leader in the TFT-LCD monitor market."
On display at the roadshow are Samsung's first-of-a-kind, superior-performance range of TFT-LCD monitors: SyncMaster 241MP monitor, the world's largest multi-function monitor to combine TV functionality; SyncMaster 151N, which incorporates a narrow bezel just 0.5" thin, and comes with a removable base and sleek dimensions and SyncMaster 172B, the world's slimmest monitor with a depth of 20.6mm, offering picture-perfect digital image quality without any signal degradation or the hassle of time-consuming adjustments. Samsung markets its monitors under six different series, with further variations in each of the series based on the end user's requirements: colour, signal inputs, multimedia and stand type among others.
Regionally, there is an increasing demand for TFT-LCD monitors over CRT monitors due to its compactness and non-existence of technological issues. Also, enhanced corporate demand aided by affordable prices, and the preference among companies awaiting ISO certification to convert from CRT to TFT-LCD monitors have contributed to its rising adoption.
"TFT-LCD monitors represent a complete shift in work culture. While it allows a company to save on premium desktop real estate with 60 per cent lesser power consumption compared to CRT monitors, the monitors' superior image quality facilitate efficient working environments. Samsung's series of roadshows running across the UAE will give users an insight on the advantages of TFT-LCD technology and familiarise with Samsung's diverse product solutions," added Mr. Vasudevan.
