Dubai Press Club explained that the Emirates Airlines, the official carrier for the program, will transport the guests from different parts of the world to Dubai, while Dubai Media Incorporated will offer a variety of services to ensure adequate visibility and coverage for the event by comprehensively covering the event in its television channels as well as by hosting prominent guests for talk shows and specialized interviews.
The Arab Media Group will press into service all the media organizations under its umbrella to make sure the Forum will receive sufficient coverage.
Ahmed Al-Sheikh, member of the Board of Directors of Dubai Media Incorporated and Media Escort to H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said that DMI's support for the event was part of its commitment to support fruitful media initiatives, particularly those that shed light on the achievements of Dubai and the UAE in various fields.
"We are pleased to cooperate with the Media Forum in view of the significance of the event for the media in the whole of the Arab world. The Arab Journalism Award, an important component of the Forum, is credited with having created an atmosphere of healthy competition and commitment to professionalism in the Arab Media,"
he stated.
Mohammed Al Mulla, Executive Director, Arab Media Group, said: "Supporting the Arab Media Forum is very much a part of our responsibility as a pioneering media organization. We will do all we can to make the event a success as this would strengthen the media in the UAE in a variety of ways."
Butrus Butrus, First Vice President, Communications, Emirates Airlines, said that Emirates was pleased to continue its support for the Media Forum. "The Forum is the preeminent media gathering in the region. It is a dynamic platform for discussion and debates across the spectrum of media organizations in the Arab world and outside. We have set up an entire team of professionals in our communications department to provide media persons from around the world with required information, services and support," he added.
The 8th Arab Media Forum, held at Hotel Atlantis on May 11 -12, will be attended by more than 600 media persons from around the Arab world and outside. The sessions at the Forum will discuss a number of topics concerning the media industry in the region, especially in the context of the global financial crisis.
